Founded in the thirteenth century, The Magdalen & Lasher Charity has been assisting families and schools in the Borough of Hastings since that time.
Under the Scheme authorised by the Charity
Commission, The Magdalen & Lasher Charity has a responsibility to provide
for relief in need - that is to assist persons who are in need, hardship or
distress. Applications will not be considered for those who have lived in
the Borough of Hastings for less than three years. 
The current objectives of the Charity are:-

To pay pensions to elderly and necessitous residents of Hastings

To manage Old Hastings House

To provide relief in need

To support the provision of education in the Borough
